Scared Of Her Silence
18 May, 2005
Author: Pondering Red
Scared of her silence,
their discomfort gathers-
pours
onto their bodies
through
to the core of their being.
Her candor drips over them.
They scratch at their discomfort - play games.
Accusations run rampant.
They focus on her-
draw her out in malicious ways;
all to appease themselves.
She does not flinch
Inside the old feelings glance at her,
yet they evaporate.
She buys a plant on the way home
a bright red welcoming plant.
On the bus she seems content
and dusts off the resistance.
Everywhere there are
cell phone conversations,
idle chit chat,
tvs blaring empty talk-phones ringing.
She sits
with the hush of the evening ocean
waves of traffic.
Time lessens the
thoughts of harsh impact
that leak from most others.
Silence,
waiting for opportunity-
brilliant in colour-
triumphant once more.
------- Author's Notes -------
Way too often most people feel a heavy discomfort with silence. |
