Catholic Child
19 May, 2005
Author: Ben Franklin
We met in spring
and sparks flew,
candle lit dinners and walks in the park,
Id been in love before but this felt so new.
Within 3months we had our own flat,
sadly things went down hill after that.
You started dabbling in drugs,
a slap around may face became the norm
instead of our daily hugs.
My friends gave me advice
but I did not listen,
I became a victim of the girlfreind beater system.
On the wednesday you went to work
but forgot your phone,
you got a text from Anne saying
"thanks for last night,come round,
Im all alone at home".
I didnt know what to do,
I went completely num,
I left a foul mouthed letter for him
explaining I was going back to live with my
Mum.
Once at my mums,
I found out I was pregnant
and the baby was yours.
I phoned you the next day
and you said you did not want anything to do with
OUR baby,
and that I should get rid of it.
I did just that,
and Im a catholic who has commited a huge sin,
I know it sounds harsh folks,
but theres no way I could of looked in to my babies eyes...
as I would of only seen him.
