Second Chance

I can hear them speaking to me while I lye here asleep
Nothing ever hit me so hard, nothing ever hit so deep
I don't know what I was thinking it was a selfish act
I hope you can forgive me although I can't take it back
Now I can hear them weeping they're crying out my name
Family and friends holding my hands not knowing who's to blame
Mom/Dad, I'm sorry for being such a bad daughter I never meant to do this to you
Family, I'm sorry I always blocked you out I never even let you get through
Baby, I can feel your presence, though we may not be able to meet eye to eye
Friends, I appreciate you being here but I don't want any of you to cry
Its true everything does flash before your eyes, I saw my whole life at a glance
God, even though I attempted taking my life last night I ask for another chance.

Meridian (152.163.100.197) -- Friday, May 20 2005, 05:29 pm mArLeNe! Triumphant testimony about how you overcame the temptation of wanting to die, and about how God sparing your life! I find this very poignant---tears of happiness for reading your poems once more! I'm glad we have a God who's forgiving! Second Chance! Woot! Woot! Let's give it up for Marlene! |
