Dear Heaven

You seem to be missing an angel and he seems to be here with me
I'm guessing he might have escaped, because who would set him free
He's a person like no other, one that I always longed to find
A soul to never be compared, a real one of a kind
The joy of looking into those eyes and the bliss of falling for his smile
I know its been a mighty long time but could he stay for just a while
It may be too much to ask for, but what else can I do
He is truly an original, he is a dream come true
He is every wish that was never granted, every present I never got
He is every Christmas never spent, every birthday forgot
Thank you for putting him in my way, he's got everything I lack
I know its time for him to come home now but please don't take him back!

Meridian (152.163.100.197) -- Friday, May 20 2005, 05:36 pm Writing a letter to Heaven, I think I did that when I was just knee-high, asking God to please grant a few of my requests. Don't you hate it when a person you love so dear whether it be a friend or a family member either ends up: a) moving b) being sick c) dead It always seems the ones you are close to end up doing one of the above; well at least the ones I've known, and it hurts like crazy. Cool poem Marlene! Another powerful one! |

Bipedalguy (4.156.51.69) -- Friday, April 27 2007, 01:22 am This is an excellent poem. I suspect that this person you hope doesn't leave is probably quite lucky. If he likes good writers he'll probably stay. Keep 'em coming. Bipe |
