The Sun
20 May, 2005
Author: Icy Blue
That was the day our sun fell down,
It fell right to my feet,
So I picked it up.
We stared at the sun in my soft, delicate hands,
Bathing in its vibrant light,
Praying to avoid,
The flowing sands.
We both had our tears,
Our sharp stabbing pain,
But our pains were different,
Our tears weren’t the same
My tears fell for what could have been,
For what I lost,
My broken dream.
Your tears fell for what was never there,
What you think you remember staring at,
With your empty stare.
If you shed a tear,
Remember those times,
When your tears fell by my feet,
And mingled with mine.
------- Author's Notes -------
I wrote this poem in memory of my best friend who deserted me when I became a women so to speak...you see, he was a guy, ...he freaked out and forced his mother to let him go to a different secondary school to me. |
