This Boat
22 May, 2005
Author: Holly
I've been on this boat for years,
Just sailing along with all my fears.
The cuts I've been making are all around,
Sooner or later this boat'll go down,
I wonder what this journey is for,
I'm just trying to reach the shore.
I've no idea where I'm going to go,
Everything's too far way to know.
Nothing but water for miles and miles,
I'm keeping afloat with my fake smiles,
I'd love to go somewhere comforting and real,
But my hands won't reach the steering wheel.
I'm trying so hard to keep this boat sailing,
But all I'm doing is trying and failing.
The mistakes I've made will be my downfall,
And there's no lifeline for me to call.
There's water getting in the cuts I made,
Nothing can save me now, not even the blade.
I knew from the start this boat would go down,
I knew from the start I was going to drown.
