My Superman
24 May, 2005

Once upon a time
in my perfect world
You were my superman my hero
my everything and more.
When my tears would fall
upon my face at night
You'd always be there to comfort me
in your arms I'd fall asleep.
Mommy mad you leave
when I was only 3 years old
But I wanted my superman back with me
to scare away my darkest dreams.
You started drinking more and more
and into jail you went
10 months later when you were free
your promises to me you broke.
Again you hit the bottle
only this time I was old enough
To know what it all meant
Daddy dearest was an alcoholic
but I loved you all the same.
You went to jail again this time
3 years long you were put away.
When I say I love you
I always mean it
but you've broken promises in the past
So what makes this time any different?

I know how it feels

I know it feels to be in this situation. I know people who have his problem, and i feel sorry for them.
