Don't Give In

Author: The Lost Girl
With every thought of happiness comes one of constant sorrow,
with every shine of brightness comes a hint of no tomorrow,
with every feeling of hope comes the tumbling let down,
with every smile shared comes the always heartless frown,
although you know the joy that something good can bring,
you always end up being left with no cheerful song to sing,
depression is your shadow, it's always by your side,
it isolates you from the world, saying go and hide,
you attempt to push away it, it always leaves you mad,
but life says to obey it, it's alright to stay sad,
you share with no one your thoughts of constant hate,
so no one knows the truth, the darkness of your fate,
you say you're so alone, that no one understands,
and maybe you're right, but try to make a stand,
don't give in to the beauty of the dark,
even if you're life seems to be so stark,
go and ask for help, push your pride away,
then maybe you'll allow yourself to see the brighter days.

Angel in Tears (81.157.219.191) -- Wednesday, May 25 2005, 07:59 pm This is so perfect and correct. I am astonished how someone could possibly put all of this to words and still make sense XP The last two lines are so true ...I hope that people will take it. But to have brighter days the person have to want them in the first place... Congratulations on another master piece! |

Mike (82.35.78.155) -- Friday, May 27 2005, 07:54 pm But what if you've asked for help, you've told the people you thought would care the most how you feel, but nothing has happened? What then..? |
The Lost Girl (4.226.120.118) -- Sunday, May 29 2005, 06:16 am My answer to your question "What then..?" is this: Don't Give In. There are people who care and will help even if it takes a while to find them- they will most likely be the people you least expected. Don't ever give up on finding them. |
Mike (82.35.78.155) -- Wednesday, June 1 2005, 11:55 am Yes, but after facing disappointment after disappointment, it's hard to not give up. You just get scared that the next person will reject you. |
The Lost Girl (4.226.153.129) -- Friday, June 3 2005, 06:45 pm I completely understand where you're coming from because I've been in the same position, but I can't emphasize enough that there are people who care- they may be the least expected, but they are there. If you ever need to desperately discuss something, I'll be happy to help you best I can. |
