Don't Give In

Author: The Lost Girl
With every thought of happiness comes one of constant sorrow,
with every shine of brightness comes a hint of no tomorrow,
with every feeling of hope comes the tumbling let down,
with every smile shared comes the always heartless frown,
although you know the joy that something good can bring,
you always end up being left with no cheerful song to sing,
depression is your shadow, it's always by your side,
it isolates you from the world, saying go and hide,
you attempt to push away it, it always leaves you mad,
but life says to obey it, it's alright to stay sad,
you share with no one your thoughts of constant hate,
so no one knows the truth, the darkness of your fate,
you say you're so alone, that no one understands,
and maybe you're right, but try to make a stand,
don't give in to the beauty of the dark,
even if you're life seems to be so stark,
go and ask for help, push your pride away,
then maybe you'll allow yourself to see the brighter days.
