Vampire’s Life
29 May, 2005
Author: Andrew James Ball
When the sun goes down
And the streetlights come on
The church bells will ring.
Then I’ll come out
And my day will have begun.
At night I feel so alive
Like I can fly
Up into the darkened sky
Where all the children of night
Try to learn to fly.
To stay alive
I need to drink mortal lives
Too sustain my immortal life.
I have been around for many long years
I’ve seen pirates sail around the world
On wooden boats
Blasting each other out of the waves.
I was there when Egypt fell
To the Roman Empire
When Cleopatra was queen of the Nile.
But the one thing I remember the most
Was this guy that came by
Asking for some change
To go into outer space.
I always thought that he was crazy
Unfit to live in society
Until I heard about the first man in space.
Living forever is not all fun and games
You still have to worry about being killed
The very next day
By your own pray.
