Snowflakes

vinebar

Walking briskly through the chilly night air
I felt your touch upon my brow
Cold yet pleasant
An odd sensation

I gazed up at the street light two rows down
Watching you fall
Light as a feather
Swirling by you caressed my cheek

Specs of light
Falling from above
You brought a smile to my face
And left a twinkle in my eye

Continuing your descent
I reached up to catch you
Feeling a chill beneath my fingers
Suddenly you melted
As did my heart

Natures little miracles
Always affect me so
Offering a sense of peace
Traced ever so delicately upon the soul

------- Author's Notes -------

I never fail to get excited over the first snowflakes of the year. Especially here in the Southwest, they do seem quite miraculous.

A winters Dream

With the excitment installed in every child,
This time of year brings those memories to bear,
Snow we used to play so free,
Today brings the child within us out to play.
Great poem

Delightful

Makes me feel good, even though winter's coming, and I'm not supposed to shovel the stuff. (I always do, my driveway is so steep I can barely walk up it.) (I seem to like shoveling my driveway now that the Dr. says don't. I do feel guilty. I guess the guilt is what I like about it.)

Thanks guys!

Clive and Bipe appreciated your comments. Glad it came across as a "feel good" poem.
