I just had this weird idea pop in my head and i thought it would be neat to have a place to post a favorite recipe. Although, i don't have one in my pocket atm, I'll definitely post one soon. :D

Fried Green Tomatoes ( can also use cucumbers and squash or eggplant)

Slice the fully green firm tomatoes thin (under a quarter inch thick, the thinner the better)
leave skin on tomatoes but peel off skin if you are doing cucumbers, eggplant or squash)

1 cup of flour pour it on a dinner plate. Mix in your favorite spices..
I use garlic salt and pepper. Just enough spice that you can barely taste it if you stick your finger in.

wet your slices in water and fully coat in the flour top and bottom

put about a half inch of oil in the pan it should be hot enough that the veg sizzles a little when you put it in and bubbles a bit. (careful not too hot that it pops hot grease)

Place tomatoes in a single layer in the pan. turning every so often to prevent burning

once the coating is a browned take them out and place on a paper towel to help drain the grease.. Serve hot. season to taste..

mmm mmmm good.

Dreamer's Dessert (sort of an Eclaire pie)
(9 x13 cake pan)

2 lg vanilla jello instant pudding

Medium sized Cool whip (whipped topping in a tub for other countries)

Milk. enough to make one recipe of pudding

Box of graham crackers *usually don't need the complete box

1 Magic Shell (fudge or chocolate hardening ice cream topping.
Chocolate or fudge flavors works best

Mix both boxes of pudding.. & the whipped topping and add milk as if making one instant pudding recipe. Mix till starting to thicken

Line the bottom of pan with graham crackers add enough of the pudding mix to completely cover the graham crackers. then alternate with layer of graham crackers and pudding ending with a bit thicker pudding mixture on the top.

Pour the Magic Shell topping in a thin layer coving the entire top of of the mixture

refrigerate for at least 2 hours.... the longer you can wait the better it tastes.

Serve cold.

hints: you can use the light or sugar free ingredients to make a bit lower calorie dessert

i bought some tomato plants at a farmer's market yesterday. I didn't plant them yet, still a chance of frost at night. Hopefully my cat doesn't get a hold of them while they are hanging out on the counter.
I've never done any vegetable gardening. I also bought a couple cabbage plants. Hopefully i won't end up killing em.
